About the Speakers

Pam is a Senior Product Marketing Manager and former practicing IP attorney with a decade of experience in ediscovery, including project and review management. Pam graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law, where she won awards in Advanced Patent Law and Policy and Civil Procedure II, as well as Best Brief in the C. Clyde Atkins Moot Court Competition. Prior to her career in ediscovery, Pam worked in-house for a world-famous visual artist, and continued her IP practice after law school, counseling clients in copyright and trademark matters. Pam was also an active member of AIPLA, co-authoring a position paper on Oracle v. Google and a white paper on modernization of the Copyright Office.

Umair Muhajir is the global head of DISCO Review, overseeing operations in the US, UK, and India; his remit includes integrating technology and AI and workflow consulting into managed review processes. Umair is scaling the program into a global offering – part of the company’s investment in professional and consultative services to optimize value from DISCO’s technology suite. In addition to managed review, Umair has extensive experience leading teams specializing in contract lifecycle management, regulatory change management, and legal research.
Before joining DISCO in 2021, Umair practiced law for six years as a litigator at Paul Weiss LLP, specializing in complex litigation before state and federal courts, with extensive experience in securities and accounting matters, patent litigations, and regulatory and internal investigations, especially in the financial services sector. Subsequently, as the Vice President of Legal Solutions at Pangea3 (acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2010 and EY in 2019), one of the first dedicated offshore legal service providers, Umair helped grow the business over a decade to 800 permanent legal staff, in ten locations across five countries (including the US, UK, India, Poland, and Argentina).

Margaret Hartman is a Senior Review Manager at DISCO, bringing over 20 years of ediscovery experience, assisting clients in developing and implementing efficient ways to manage increasingly challenging ediscovery processes. Before joining DISCO, she spent five years as an associate in Morgan Lewis’ DC office. She has expertise in complex litigation, internal audits, regulatory investigations, and second requests and has led reviews regarding ERISA, False Claims, and antitrust violations. Additionally, Margaret has experience in the construction, energy, and manufacturing sectors. Margaret received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and is admitted to the bar in DC. and Virginia.
